Trust the Robotic Mower Pros!
The Lawnmower Project is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization dedicated to fostering entrepreneurship, financial literacy, and community accountability among local youth.
This passion project, founded by Gary Szymczak, owner of Broad Ripple Mower Repair, bridges the gap between mechanical sustainability and youth mentorship.

It started with an abandoned lawnmower on the side of the road. Gary repaired it and gave it to a local teenager who wanted to make some extra money mowing yards.
But that was just the beginning...
Instead of simply giving away equipment, the program serves as a comprehensive business incubator for student ambassadors. Every participant receives structured guidance across key operational pillars:
Equips students with the practical mechanics of running a local business, focusing on foundational accounting, cash flow management, service pricing, and effective customer communication.
Develops long-term character, personal responsibility, and maturity through structured community mentorship and real-world operational challenges.
Fosters civic responsibility by requiring participants to provide regular, complementary lawn care to elderly or in-need community members.
Every service booked and product purchased at Broad Ripple Mower Repair directly aids the growth and operational footprint of this community initiative. Through community sponsorship, corporate partnerships, and volunteer support, the goal remains steady: expanding from a single local neighborhood to change youth lives across Central Indiana.
